Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

In honor of the birthday of Dr. Suess I created a little hat clip for my daughter to wear to school for their Dr Suess party.

I didn't take pictures of the entire process, but it is pretty simple.

Materials:
Hair clip
Ribbon
Large white button
Smaller red and white buttons
Hot glue

Glue the buttons together. Glue now to the clip and adhear the button hat on top.

Clip in!

Dr Suess was an amazing man who contributed to the world of children literature but in doing so made contributions to the world as a whole.

His wisdom spoke well beyond the pages of his books.

Dr. Suess has found a place of inspiration in many of our hearts.

So pick up a Dr. Suess book today and read with your child. Pass on the special messages in so many of his books to the next generation!

Clean eating for families:

If you are more into having a book in your hands to read and a hard copy of recipes here is a book recommendation. Food Network featured this author and has a full page of the interview here. A good starting place.

B is for the love of Books!

Day two of my February ABC challenge.

B is for Books and boy do I love books! Although being a Mom and having a full time job, along with all the other obligations, I don't have much time to read. However, I do try squeeze a few books in here and there. To made up for lack of down time I listen to audiobooks during my commute to and from work.

I've read (and listened to) a few really good books this past year here are a few:
-Gone Girl by Glynn Flynn

What are some of the good reads you've had during the past year?

Another good Audiobook

For those of you that love mysteries, Sherlock Holmes, audio books, or all of the above... Here is another good book for you.

I have literally listened to every Sherlock Holmes story written by Sir Arthur Connon Doyle, so you can imagine how excited I was to find this book. It is written so similarly that you can't even tell it is a different author.

Two thumbs up on this one!

Book Recommendation

I have been listening to a great audiobook over the past two weeks. So good that I've actually looked for extra opportunities to walk the dogs just so I could listen to it for a few more minutes.

A well written book combining the love and mystery and effortlessly weaving modern times and the past.

Here is the amazon.com review

I HIGHLY recommend this book, whether you get it as and audiobook or a paperback, it is well worth the read!!!!

The Dressmaker, my current read.

I don't have much time to read, but I do love to read. My latest book is a good one. I"m only half way through but I already recommended it to my friend tonight and I thought I should share it all with you as well.

The book "The Dressmaker" by Kate Alcott

The book is centered around two main characters London-based designer Lady Lucille Duff Gordon and Tess, young girl who is hired to work as a maid for Lady Lucille but dreams of becoming a seamstress. Both women are board the Titanic and survive the sinking but in different boats. After the sinking Tess's fate as a seamstress is tied to Lady Lucille but her heart tugs her in a differnet direction.
